I know this is day 366, but I had to post pictures of Jude's birthday. These are the only shots I took all day because I had my cousin Teria at the party snapping for me. I plan to add those later to be printed up in this book as well.
Happy Birthday Jude! Here he is eating a Belgian waffle with bananas, strawberries and whipped cream... he really enjoyed it and my mom pointed out that I have already started the birthday breakfast tradition. Uh oh! :)
The other picture is Jude opening his first present. It was the shirt I wanted him to wear for the day. I drew some designs, and my friend Melissa sewed them onto shirts for me. This one was the yellow balloon short.
I still can't believe my little man is one, but, I feel a lot more excited today than I did last night. I think having a one year old is going to be pretty fun!

Today was full of running around to prepare for Jude's birthday tomorrow
I didn't even think about going out with a bang for this picture project, but,
I think these cell phone shots fit the day perfect. I was starting to get really
overwhelmed with my feelings. As I looked at my "not so little" guy fast
asleep I realized he would be one tomorrow. He would not be "any month" old
and he is growing up! Such a weird feeling..

Regarding this project: This being the 365th day... I am feeling so glad
to have committed to this project. I can already look back and feel
a rush of feelings as I look at each little day. Some days were a production
and others were a quick blurry snap, but I think that depicts motherhood
perfectly. Life isn't always perfect. I just loved taking a minute out of my day to
remember what was happening and what is going on with Jude.
This project really helped me to stop and enjoy life with Jude.

Jude is just getting SO smart! I love how he is starting to mimic us.
For instance when I pick him up, he pats me on the back (or arm)
becuase Trenton and I are total "patter-huggers." He also likes to
brush his hair (and mine) and... pictured is him using his fork. He
doesn't quite have it down, but he tries with every bite and it is so cute!

I started reading BabyWise 2 since I love how well Babywise worked
for us and I was suddenly flooded with the feeling of failure. The book
told me I should have been weening Jude off the binky at 6 months and
also teaching him how to use a sippy cup. Well He has a straw sippy
cup but he hasn't used one that requires tipping... until today. And he
knew exactly what to do! Whew! I guess being a bottle baby would help,
but I'm glad to know that things don't always have to be "by the book."
Ha! Pun very intended!

Anyway Babywise 2 also listed what they call "Bad meal time behavior"
and Jude qualified as one bad baby. haha He does the following:
Flipping his plate, throwing food on the floor, blowing raspberries
or spitting out his food, banging on his tray, touching his hair - getting
food in it, and trying to climb out of his high chair. YIKES!
By definition he is doing everything wrong therefor I have taught him all
wrong! Now I am not so silly as to think I am a failure because of all this,
but I have taken a little more action. I've been putting my finger on his
mouth saying "Keep it in your mouth" when he spits his food out. And
when he throws food on the floor I've been trying the hand squeezing
method that Babywise 2 suggestions. Just a little "No, please dont do that"
and a light squeeze of his hand seems to work pretty well. I like tha
t much better than a spanking - of which Babywise 2 says isn't the most
effective action for his age.

P.S. I love how Jude has developed a love for edamame (pictured)I couldn't be anymore proud.

One thing that must be mentioned for remembrance is Jude ridiculous attachment to his Grandpa Howard. I personally love this because I feel my dad and I are pretty close and also because he never got a chance to raise a son. Jude will do anything to get Grandpa Howard to hold him and he just loves to explore outside with him. It's super cute.

Jude is getting very tricky lately. He Thinks he's pretty smart. Obviously you can see he discovered the toilet paper and I usually eave the bathroom door shut because I found him dunking socks in the toilet a few weeks ago. *sigh All it takes is 2 "milla" seconds for him to get into to trouble I swear!
Also I would like to note that Trenton did indeed re-roll the whole roll of toilet paper. What a silly man.

10.8.2011

Here is Jude being a ladies man with his Aunt MacKenzie and her two friends. What a cutie!

10.7.2011

Now I know this blog isnt about me but I just have to say. I have no idea what I did to deserve the
generosity I've been receiving. These pictures were taken with a fellow photographers lens that he just
let me borrow... what? Okay, I'll borrow your lens anytime Mr! I had a blast testing it out on Jude today!

10.6.2011

What did I say about naps? Yes they REALLY ARE dramatic! Jude discovered how to take off his pants.
And later discovered how to take off his diaper and then pee in his crib. Nice buddy! I don't know what
his problem is but he is really protesting the naps lately. Little stinker.

10.5.2011

Naptime is SO dramatic lately. His latest... getting stuck behind the blinds.

10.4.2011

I fed Jude his first burrito today. Black bean and cheese. Notice the tear on his left cheek?
He gets a little emotional about his food - especially when he can't get his preferred amount
in his mouth quick enough. He loves black beans!

10.3.2011

I don't love this picture. Bad quality. Yuck!
But thats what today was like. Glooomy.
This is Trenton and Jude hanging out while I try to take
Trevor and Kristi's family photos.
